Local Prosecutor Races Are Under A National Spotlight. “District attorney races haven’t historically drawn the same attention as presidential or even House or Senate contests. But local prosecutors are increasingly under a national spotlight amid the ongoing debate over sentencing guidelines, mandatory minimum sentences and violent crime. Now, with America at a criminal justice crossroads, their campaigns are beginning to get a lot more attention than ever before — including in the 2024 presidential primary.” (Politico, 08/16/23)

Crime and Progressive Prosecutors Hot Button Item in First Presidential Debate. “On Wednesday during the Republican Presidential Debate, numerous candidates addressed crime and inaction by liberal prosecutors.” (Protecting Americans Action Fund, 08/23/23)

VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE:  “Democrats and liberal prosecutors in major metropolitan areas continue to work out their fanciful agendas that do bail reform and go easy. What we need is strong commitment to law enforcement. We need leadership in Washington, D.C., that’ll marshal the resources of the states, marshal the resources of the American people, but let me also say it’s about opportunity.”

GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE:  “What a President Christie would do, is appoint an Attorney General, who would instruct each of the 93 US attorneys that they are to take over the prosecution of violent crime in every one of those cities that are failing to do so. We have plenty of room in the federal prisons to lock up these violent criminals and clean up what’s going on all across this country and these individual cities.”

Jason Miyares Discusses Protecting Americans Action Fund On Fox Business “We want to elect prosecutors that actually prosecute and not be prosecutors that think they’re social workers, which is what happens. … The world is run by those that show up, and so what we’re doing is both recruiting, talking to, and encouraging those candidates, because here’s what’s happening – you have a race where the DA race maybe between the two candidates will spend $100,000 – $200,000, and then these left-wing groups will drop in $250,000 two weeks before the election and before you know it you have a prosecutor who won’t prosecute larceny, will do plea deals and they have a criminal first/victim last mindset, and the one voice that is always left out when we talk about social justice reform are victims. We want to be a voice for the victims, that’s why we have our group. We’re very proud of the work we’re doing and we are going to be doing in the future.” (Fox Business, 07/27/23)

George Soros’s Prosecutors Remain Idle Against Criminals. “I proudly serve on the Protecting Americans Action Fund Advisory Board with former U.S. Attorney General William Barr, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, and others who believe we need prosecutors who will enforce our laws. Our mission is simple: We believe in our justice system, in which a prosecutor should prosecute, a defense attorney should defend, and a judge should judge. We aim to elect prosecutors who will fulfill this responsibility and replace the radical Left Soros-supported prosecutors who won’t. Last year, the Protecting Americans Action Fund won more than 70% of the races we were involved with, including the district attorney race in Maricopa County, the largest county in Arizona, where we defeated Soros’s handpicked, anti-law enforcement, pro-criminal candidate. As we look to the fall, we will be even more active, especially with local prosecutor races in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, where we will work to elect candidates who know their job is to stand with the victim, not the criminal.” (The Washington Examiner, 08/15/23)
