Arlington, VA – George and Alex Soros have already spent more than $40 million to elect liberal, soft-on-crime prosecutors across the country — and their efforts continue. This week, their financial backing helped Ramin Fatehi secure the Democratic nomination for Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk, Virginia.
As The Virginian Pilot reports
“Ramin Fatehi held off a spirited and well-backed challenge from former federal prosecutor John Butler to win a second term as the city’s top prosecutor. … Butler’s top contributors were some of the city’s most powerful lawyers and business leaders, while Fatehi’s main source of campaign income came from three liberal super PACs largely funded by billionaire George Soros, as well as loans from himself.” (Virginian Pilot, 06/18/25)
“Despite the business community’s wishes, George and Alex Soros once again bought Ramin Fatehi’s spot as the Democrat nominee for Norfolk’s Commonwealths Attorney after four years of installing their criminal first, victim last philosophy in the city,” said Ada Furciniti, Executive Director of Protecting Americans Action Fund. “Soros’ continued investment in Fatehi is a clear indicator that they are not slowing down in their support for radical progressive prosecutors and their use of local races to undermine the law-and-order policies that put America First. Protecting Americans Action Fund will continue to stand up to Soros and support conservative prosecutors who understand that their job is to enforce the law, stand with victims, and support law enforcement.”
